While working as a live-in nanny on Maui one summer, Mikenna fell in love with the island and wanted to someday drop everything and move here. When her classes shifted to online learning during her senior year of college, Mikenna left California behind and completed her business marketing degree while living on Maui.
Since moving here, Mikenna has explored most of Maui’s accessible hikes, including the Waihe’e Ridge and Lahaina Pali Trails. “I like a good incline, so those two are my favorites for a good workout.” But she also finds Hike Maui’s rainforest to be a very special place. “I love the fruits, the waterfalls, and conversing with my guests and hearing their stories while we’re out in nature.”
When Mikenna isn’t guiding tours for us, she’s working on establishing her own business: a “nice cream” food truck that will serve frozen plant-based treats similar to soft serve. She also values spending time with her friends and community, and being active in her church.
