Erica’s deep passion for teaching makes being a Hike Maui guide the perfect fit for her. “Teaching is my life, along with hiking and backpacking,” she explains. For her, Hike Maui is an ideal way to combine those interests, while introducing her guests to nature. “We live in the most incredible place. Being able to share Maui with them, while having fun at the same time, is just what I was looking for.”
Ambitious Erica also owns her own learning coach business, through which she puts her master’s degree in Adaptive Special Education to good use. She specializes in supporting students both at home and in a tutoring setting in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning. In her spare time, Erica spends time hiking and going to the beach with her soon-to-be-husband Abel, and golden retriever Mac.
Originally from Illinois, Erica has also lived in Kansas City, Michigan, and Colorado. She has a twin sister whom she speaks with every single day. “We definitely have that ‘twin connection.’ I feel so blessed to have someone in my life who knows me better than anyone else.”
