Directions & Locations for our Hike Maui Meeting Spots

 

PARK & RIDE Meet Location in Kahului

If you are meeting us at our Park & Ride location, below are several ways to navigate there: Map, coordinates and written directions.

Google Map Location – Intersection of Highway 350 & Highway 380 in Kahului (a couple of miles from the airport)

Look for the Green Arrow indicator on the map for the Park & Ride Location

  • The Park & Ride meeting location is along a large concrete wall with a single row of parking facing Hwy 380 west of Hwy 311 just before entering Kahului.
  • GPS – No physical address, but it is at the Intersection of Highways 350 & 380.
  • Exact coordinates: 20 degrees, 52 minutes, 30 seconds north, 156 degrees, 27 minutes, 43 seconds west

From Wailea / Makena / Kihei – the South side of the island

  • Highway 31 (Pi’ilani Highway) – head north.
  • Follow airport signs to Kahului, bearing right onto Hwy 311.
  • After 10 minutes, look for big church (King’s Cathedral), then move into left lane.
  • Turn left onto Hwy 380 (Kuihelani Hwy).
  • Go 200 yards and turn right into “Park n’ Ride” commuter lot.
  • Park your car against a concrete block wall.

From Lahaina /Ka’anapali /Kapalua – the West side of the island

  • Head south on Highway 30 as if you’re going to Kahului Airport.
  • Turn right onto Hwy 380.
  • Five miles down 380 there’s a concrete block wall on left.
  • Turn left across highway into Park n’ Ride commuter lot against that wall.

 


 

KAYAK Meet Locations Ukumehame Beach and Makena Beach

 

Ukumehame Beach Kayak DIRECTIONS:

Kayak trip starts out of Ukumehame Beach Park on the west side of the island (towards Lahaina) at mile marker 12.

From Lahaina /Ka’anapali /Kapalua to Ukumehame

  • Head south on Highway 30 as if you’re going back to Kahului Airport.
  • Once you pass Olowalu General Store it will be about 3 more miles.
  • Look for Mile Marker 12 on the mountain side of the road.
  • Ukumehame Beach will be a small parking lot on the ocean side of the road – park there.
  • Let the Kayak guide know you are with Hike Maui and they will direct you from there.

From Kihei / Wailea / Makena to Ukumehame

  • North on Hwy 31.
  • Past Kaiwahine Street move to left lane and go left towards Lahaina onto Hwy 310 North.
  • At the end of 310 turn left onto Highway 30.
  • Look for Mile Marker 12 (on the mountain side).
  • Ukumehame Beach will be a small parking lot on the ocean side of the road – park there.
  • Let the Kayak guide know you are with Hike Maui and they will direct you from there.

 

Makena Beach Kayak DIRECTIONS:

Kayak trip starts out of Makena Beach Park on the south side of the island (near Wailea).

From Lahaina /Ka’anapali /Kapalua to Makena Beach

  • South on Highway 30 (sign says “30 East”) in the direction of Kahului Airport.
  • Right on Hwy 310 (N. Kihei Rd.) towards Kihei.
  • Turn right onto Hwy. 31 (Pi`ilani Hwy) towards Wailea.
  • Go to the end of Hwy. 31 (it veers right down the hill in Wailea).
  • Turn left onto Wailea Alanui Dr.
  • After approximately 1.2 miles, look for a large BLUE sign on the right side of road saying “Makena Landing.”
  • Turn right after sign onto Honoiki Street.
  • Turn right at stop sign and park on right side of road.
  • Look on ocean side for kayaks – park there.
  • Ask for the kayak company that works with Hike Maui.

From Kihei / Wailea to Makena Beach

  • Kihei – follow  Hwy 31 to Shops at Wailea
  • Wailea – stay on Wailea Alanui and head south past Shops at Wailea
  • After approximately 1.2 miles, look for a large BLUE sign on the right side of road saying “Makena Landing.”
  • Turn right after sign onto Honoiki Street.
  • Turn right at stop sign and park on right side of road.
  • Look on ocean side for kayaks – park there.
  • Ask for the kayak company that works with Hike Maui.
