Born the middle child of seven in Saratoga Springs, New York, George first came to Maui on vacation in 2009 to visit a friend and liked it here so much that he skipped his flight home. Before joining Hike Maui, George spent several years working as a purser on snorkel boats. But even though he’s now on terra firma, don’t be surprised if he greets you the morning of your hike with a cheery “Ahoy!”
Nothing fazes good-natured George, and he views every day at Hike Maui as a new adventure. “Different guests, weather conditions and critters make every hike unique,” he says. On his days off, George and his wife Alisha spend time four-wheel driving off the beaten path.
