About Aaron

Local-boy Aaron spent his younger years doing exactly what we do on our hikes: swimming in and jumping off waterfalls. “I enjoy telling my guests stories about what it’s like to grow up on Maui,” he says. “It’s not about showing off our island—it’s about sharing our way of life.”

Educational pursuits led Aaron to O‘ahu, where he graduated from U.H. Manoa with a degree in kinesiology. While studying there, he led tours of the university’s Ka Papa Lo‘i O Kanewai Cultural Garden and became passionate about educating guests on Hawai‘i’s cultural and natural surroundings.

Aaron’s parents immigrated to Maui from The Philippines in the 1970s; his father has worked for Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company since then, and his mother is the medical field. “I have my parents to thank for my strong work ethic,” Aaron says.

Guest Quote: Aaron was awesome! He was extremely informative and fun, and had many interesting facts to share. Aaron was great with our two teenaged boys who thought the hike was amazing. His outgoing and engaging personality made the adventure better than what we anticipated. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Maui.
